Coaching -- Helping employees develop their knowledge and skills; providing timely feedback, guidance, and training to help them reach goals.
The effort put into coaching will pay off for the employee, the supervisor, and the State of North Carolina. Effective coaching helps avoid performance and work habit problems, while building the confidence, commitment, and skills people need to handle their work and achieve their performance expectations. When people work more effectively, productivity increases and there is more time to complete the important aspects of the job.
Coaching focuses on improving performance day-to-day and is done on an individual basis.
